High in Ethiopia’s Guji zone, the Jigesa washing station sits at 1,851m above sea level. Founded in 2014 by Testi Coffee, this family-owned station works with around 500 smallholder farmers from nearby villages. Most farms are tiny, just 2–5 hectares and grow coffee organically alongside corn, bananas, and native shade trees.
Cool mountain air slows ripening, producing dense, sweet beans with layered complexity. This lot is part of Testi’s Premium Cherry Selection program, meaning farmers are paid extra to deliver only the ripest cherries.
Processed using the washed method with fresh river water, Jigesa’s coffee is carefully sorted, fermented, and dried on raised beds. The result? A vibrant, clean cup that reflects Guji’s best; floral, sweet, and full of character.
