Hadeso

This exceptional coffee originates from the privately owned Hadeso washing station in Shakisso, Guji. Managed by Testi Coffee (founded by Faysel A. Yonis), the station sits at 1,950 m above sea level, employs eight permanent staff and 250 seasonal workers, and receives ripe cherries from around 500 smallholder farmers . These growers farm organically on tiny plots of two to five hectares, intercropping coffee with corn, grain and bananas under the shade of native trees; the high elevations (1,900–2,050 m) and cool temperatures slow the ripening of the cherries, producing dense beans and a sweeter, more complex cup .

Hadeso processes both washed and natural lots; this particular release is a washed lot composed mainly of Kurume and Wolisho landrace varieties . It forms part of Testi Coffee’s Premium Cherry Selection program, which pays farmers a premium for delivering only the ripest cherries and ensures the highest quality and cleanest cup profile . Look for a creamy body with bright notes of nashi, nectarine and orange  and a lingering, citrusy finish.

This lot exemplifies the distinctive character that has made the Guji region famous for its fruit‑forward, floral and complex coffees . Ideal for filter brewing or as a vibrant, juicy espresso, Hadeso Washed showcases Ethiopian coffee at its best.
